We dedicate this page in memory of our Girl Scout sister, Nini. Who We Are and What We DoWe are eighth grade Cadettes and we live in north San Diego (Rancho Peñasquitos). We have 11 girls in our troop (3 have been with us since Daisies, the rest joined later) and we love learning new stuff, taking trips, playing sports, camping, surfing, skiing, and just hanging out. We're going to bridge! We've made such great progress toward our silver award, that we're planning to get the silver projects completed in the summer and bridge to Senior Girl Scouts in the early fall. Stay tuned! Our service unit Thinking Day Event was a huge success. Congratulations to everyone on putting it all together with such skill and style! Our troop crest, the purple pansy, symbolizes service and friendship. The word "pansy" comes from the French word pensee, which means thought. Learn more about troop crests and what they mean. We had fun working the craft booths at the Wild Animal Park's Festival of Lights in 2001 and again in 2002. Congratulations to the five girls who completed their Cadette Community Service Bar! Our Current Interest Projects:We're working toward our silver awards. Now that we've all finished our leadership pins, and most of us have finished the Cadette Challenge Pin. Check our progress. We began work on Eco-Action with the beach clean-up and did more work with a badge workshop and storm-drain painting. Visit our Eco-Actions page. We started work on our Camping interest project at last year's campout. We'll do more of the requirements at this year's. Our Cool Troop
And Nini will always be in our hearts.
